Tobie McPhail, MA
I am a new project manager on the PiER Center team. Prior to joining the IHR I was the Director of Program Evaluation at Morris Animal Foundation. I grew up in New Mexico and attended the University of Colorado for my bachelor’s degree and the University of San Francisco for my master’s degree in counseling.
Evaluation & Research Experience:
I have experience managing research projects, developing and managing departmental budgets, and providing oversight of project budgets. I have created and implemented internal program evaluations focused on program strengths and deficits as well as measuring the impact of scientific research. I am experienced working with diverse stakeholders, managing complex projects, building relationships, and have a passion for the benefits of evaluation. My role on the evaluation team includes budget and contract management, overseeing timelines and deliverables, management of IRB submissions and modifications, building team efficiencies, improving internal processes, and maintaining excellent relationships with funders.
How I Thrive:
I enjoy spending time outside with my partner Dave and our two dogs, Lloyd and Cassie. When it is nice we work tirelessly in the yard. I am also a novice but passionate birder and love movies, traveling, and wine!
