Carmen Luna, MPH
I was born and raised in Ohio (Go Bucks!) but decided to move to Colorado in 2010. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Miami University and graduated from the University of Louisville with a master’s degree in public health.
Evaluation & Research Experience:
I work on the Kaiser Permanente evaluation team conducting project management tasks as well as on the ground evaluation work. My responsibilities include managing IRB submissions and modifications as well as budget and contract management. I coordinate timelines, facilitate meetings, and manage relationships with funders. I also provide evaluation technical assistance to community clients by developing evaluation plans, data collection protocols, and tracking tools. I have experience collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and recognize the importance of sharing results in a timely fashion to encourage a learning feedback loop between evaluator, client, funder, and partners. Most recently, I’ve worked on a variety of healthy eating and active living projects including the LiveWell Colorado evaluation, the Healthy Places Initiative evaluation, the Thriving Schools evaluation, and the Inspire Initiative evaluation.
How I Thrive:
I love to spend my free time with my husband and baby daughter. We are always working on projects around our property as we aspire to turn it into somewhat of an urban homestead. I also enjoy frequenting the mountains to introduce my daughter to all that Colorado has to offer. We especially enjoy taking our dog hiking!
