Brooke Bender, MPH
I am one of the newest members of the PiER Center team; I started as a Project Manager in February 2017. I’m excited to be part of this team and to have the opportunity to contribute to the important public health evaluation work that is being done across Colorado.
Evaluation & Research Experience:
I’ve been working in the public health evaluation and research field for the last ten years focusing on a diverse set of issues, including: cardiovascular disease, HIV, mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and access to care. I’ve worked with small non-profit organizations, hospitals, schools systems, religious institutions, and government systems, both locally and abroad, allowing me to learn about diverse systems, cultures, and communities. My experience conducting needs assessments, establishing community partnerships, designing, implementing, and managing mixed-methods evaluation projects, has prepared me for the challenges that can arise in an imperfect evaluation world. I enjoy creatively problem solving issues that arise and working with partners to get the best products possible to provide a clear picture of outcomes, inform decision making, and guide positive change.
How I Thrive:
I love hiking with my puppy, watching silly movies that make me laugh really hard, and spending time with the important people in my life.
